5:30 PM
First, historian Michael Green will give a presentation, “The Rat Pack and the Sands.” The is a Nevada Humanities on the Road Presentation and is free to the public. Join us in Downtown Las Vegas at the Lowden Theatre for the Performing Arts, South 9th Street and East Clark Avenue.
7:00 PM
Next is a jazz concert by the Las Vegas Academy Jazz Bands, featuring guest vocalist Marlena Shaw. Tickets are $8.00 and will be available at the door. (Sorry, cash only.) Groups can purchase advanced tickets by calling 702-499-4197.
Post-Concert Reception
After the concert, the Junior League of Las Vegas will host a complimentary reception after the concert at the Historic Morelli House, just one block from the theatre. The address is 861 E. Bridger Avenue. The Morelli House is the restored home of Anthony Morelli, Copa Room Orchestra Conductor 1954-1972. Anthony Morelli is credited with bringing the “Rat Pack” to Las Vegas, helping establish Las Vegas as the Entertainment Capital of the World.
